A torsion spring broke, and the door needed a new set (it had two).
Our team brought over a new pair of appropriately sized springs, unplugged the opener, locked the door in place, and eased the tension off of the winding cones before removing both springs. The second unit was in bad shape, so it too needed to be replaced. After cleaning and lubricating the housing rod, we put in the new pair of torsion springs and adjusted their tension to match the weight of the door panels.
